Peptide Therapy at CharlestonMD

A limited, physician-directed program built around prevention, balance, and practical steps.

Why We Added Peptides to Our Practice

Our practice has grown around a simple idea: prioritize preventive care, balance, and steps you can actually sustain. Peptides came up often enough in conversation with members that we spent real time researching them. Beginning August 22, 2026, we offer a limited peptide program focused on safe, evidence-informed use.

What Peptides Are

Peptides are short protein fragments that can influence the body’s signaling and repair processes. Paired with good sleep, regular activity, and thoughtful nutrition, they may support metabolism, muscle repair, and inflammation response. They work alongside those habits, not instead of them.

Good to Know

What We Offer, and What We Don't

We are not offering every peptide on the market. We started with the categories that fit a preventive, balanced approach:

  • Fat loss and metabolic reset
  • Lean muscle acceleration
  • Body recomposition
  • Longevity support
  • Healing and inflammation modulation

Detailed descriptions of each category are coming, along with the specific peptides in each and pricing for a four to five week supply.

This program comes with real regulatory context, and we would rather you hear it from us up front.

Experimental and research-only. You will see these terms attached to peptides. It means the peptide has not been FDA approved for that use. It does not mean the peptide is unsafe, but it does mean large-scale regulatory approval and standardized dosing guidelines may not exist.

Compounding pharmacies. Many peptides are produced by compounding or outsourcing pharmacies operating under FDA oversight, commonly called 503A and 503B facilities. These pharmacies follow quality controls, but their products are not the same as FDA-approved drugs backed by extensive clinical trials.

Press and regulatory attention. Some peptides, BPC-157 among them, have drawn press coverage and regulatory discussion. That is part of why clinical oversight matters here.

Our standard. Because many of these are biologic, supplemental, or investigational products, we prescribe them only when we believe the potential benefit outweighs the risk and when they fit into a broader plan that includes lifestyle, monitoring, and follow-up.

Screening, dosing, monitoring, and integration with your sleep, exercise, and nutrition all affect both safety and whether you see any benefit. This program is directed by Dr. Brown, not administered by a nonmedical wellness vendor. You get clinical judgment and appropriate monitoring as part of it.

How to Get Started

Start by thinking through your health goals. Then schedule a brief consultation to ask questions and find out whether peptide therapy makes sense for you.

If you move forward, you will sign paperwork acknowledging these are not FDA-approved medications, and we will keep a card on file. Most products are compounded and delivered to you by a third-party pharmacy through our practice account.

A few products, Retatrutide (GLP-3) among them, cannot be made by 503A or 503B compounding pharmacies. The vetted laboratories that compound those will only ship to a physician for proper reconstitution, so you would pick those up from our office.
